The Suhum Municipal Assembly, led by Hon. Lydia Ohenewa Sarah, conducted a Sanitation Day exercise focused on desilting drains and clearing market areas to address seasonal flooding. The Municipal Chief Executive highlighted illegal structural extensions by traders that are blocking drainage systems, leading to severe flooding. In response, the Assembly will remove these obstructions, replace permanent drain covers with metal grates for easier maintenance, and implement daily waste collection with a dedicated tricycle. A collaborative team will also conduct routine inspections for environmental compliance. Updates were provided on the Amponsah Market Project, nearing completion, and the 24-Hour Economy Market, which is being expedited to reduce congestion in the main market. The Assembly is committed to a clean and functional economic environment and seeks traders’ cooperation. #SanitationDay #SuhumMunicipalAssembly #InfrastructureDevelopment
